Also, for being ripped from a tape, this demo sounds surprisingly good and is actually a lot of fun. Considering how different each DARKTHRONE sounds from the last, I really doubt they care about people not respecting their evolving tastes. There is a little bit of slow drone moments on the bass and drums and the guitars are played in that 32nd-note tremolo style that we've all come to know and love from the modern-day black masters. And, for what it's worth, there are a number of key elements which connect this music with what would soon become the first wave of True Norweigan Black Metal. While this demo has similarities to DECEASED and CARCASS, you need to remember that it was recorded in 1989.
But, I think there's more to the story than that. It has forever been a crux on the shoulders of DARKTHRONE that they started out as a Death Metal act before going on to be one of the most famous bands in Black Metal.
